How long does our building process take from start to finish?
Here is the approximate timeline for a new home, addition, or remodel designed and built by our teams:
|Step 1||After the initial consultation, you’ll receive a detailed proposal for the job and an overall cost within 10 to 14 business days.|
|Step 2||If the design is not complete: We will complete the design work, specifications, and contract documents. With your involvement, this generally takes 30 to 60 days. Once this is complete, the process follows step 3.|
|Step 3||Once the design is complete:
A. You’ll sign a contract for the work.
B. We will fill out the appropriate paperwork and apply for permits, which will take two weeks.
C. The town will issue a permit within 30 days.
D. We will start work around 30 to 45 days after the permit is issued.
|Step 4||Variances, special permits, and conservation approvals, if required, can add 60 to 90 days to this process. Some of this work can take place during the design process depending on the project.|
|Step 5||Larger projects, or more technical ones, may require a longer lead time (four to six months). We will inform you if this is the case.|
